Using ‘Artificial Intelligence’ (AI)is essential now-a-days because it drives automation and efficiency, liberatinghumans from repetitive tasks to focus on more complex and creative works. Byhighlighting the advantages and drawbacks of the prominent buzzword, ‘AI’, theDepartment of Commerce took an opportunity to conduct a debate – ‘The NextGreat Idea: Will it be a Human Made or AI Made?’ to facilitate students tobroaden their views on the same. The competition was organized on 23rdof August, 2025.

Two studentgroups were formed to debate on the ‘Artificial Intelligence’ and the future ofinnovation. The team arguing in favour of AI contended that its unparalleledprocessing power and ability to analyze vast data sets would lead tobreakthroughs far beyond human capability. On the other hand, the second teamwhich is the opposing group emphasized that true creativity, emotion, andethical reasoning are uniquely human traits that cannot be replicated orreplaced by algorithms. This competition was anchored by Mr. Singamala VamseeKrishna, Assistant Professor of the Department along with all other facultymembers.

The debate was alively exchange of ideas, with students presenting compelling arguments forboth sides of the complex issue. Both teams acknowledged the role of the other,but disagreed on who would hold the ultimate creative authority. At theconclusion of the event, two students from each team were recognized for theirwell-articulated points and composed delivery. The debate offered athought-provoking look into the evolving relationship between human ingenuityand artificial intelligence. The event was successfully concluded and proved tobe highly beneficial for the large number of students who participated.


The Department of Commerce at St. Vincent Pallotti College, Raipur, organized an interactive ice-breaking activity “FunFinity Fiesta” focused on facilitating a team-building session for all commerce students on 8th of August, 2025 in the seminar hall at 12:00 noon. The event was to cater the innate and natural abilities of the students on how an individual performs in a team by enhancing his talent in terms of timing and decision making beyond academic preparedness. The activity commenced with an introductory and motivating speech by the Head of the Department, Mr. Vaibhav Shrivastava who elaborated the intention and purpose of the activity and encouraged them to participate and find out their inner abilities. 

This extra-curricular activity aimed at three objectives. To facilitate the ‘Personal Growth and Self-Discovery’ was the first one in which the participants tried to identify their level of grasping and timing sense. ‘Leadership and Team-Work Development’ was another objective by which the students could learn and respond in an inclusive environment. Participation in ‘Extra-Curricular Activities’ (ECAs) has been linked to better academic performance, because of which ‘Improved Academic Performance’ was also the main objective of this activity. 

“FunFinity Fiesta” has witnessed the participation of students in large number by the commerce department. We have conducted thee type of activities. (i) Find and Tune (ii) Team Lead (iii) The perfect Time-Line. This event certainly Boosted Confidence & Self-Esteem as well as it has Strengthened Collaboration & Teamwork.

Dr. Neetu Gupta, Assistant Professor of the Department of Commerce has actively engaged and executed throughout the event supported by all other members of the department. Mr. Vaibhav Shrivastava, HoD of Commerce appreciated the team and encouraged the participants who were enthusiastically involved in all the activities of the event. The “FunFinity Fiesta” was concluded successfully and the students were benefitted in numerous ways.
