“World Computer Literacy Day” (2021-22)

World Computer Literacy Day is observed on 2nd December every year all over the world. The day is celebrated as the world computer literacy day to create awareness and drive digital literacy in underserved communities worldwide. Department of Computer Science has celebrated this day by engaging students of BCA-I and PGDCA. 4 Groups of 5 students each from the mentioned classes were formed namely Team PARAM, Team INTERPRETER, Team TECHNOWLEDGE, and Team THE A TEAM. These teams had visited different classes and departments of the college and shared technical facts and knowledge with them. This sharing of information included 5 sections of computer literacy in which each team member has explained one section and shared at least 5 points of the respective section. The sections were:

  1. Importance of Computer Literacy in new Normal.
  2. 5 Fun Facts about Computer World
  3. 5 Frequently used Shortcut keys
  4. 5 Full Forms of Extensions (eg: PDF, JPEG etc)
  5. 5 Computer Security Tips.

This event has helped in building interpersonal skills in the host students and in boosting their confidence and public speaking skills. It was also useful in promoting the technological skills of the audience students and non-technical staff of the college.

Inter-Disciplinary Activity -"Technical Carnival By Tech-Savvy Students"(2021-22)

We live in the 21st century where everything is dependent on technology. Our everyday life runs on use of technology. It has gifted us with various innovations. Also, it implies the modern practical knowledge that we require to do things in an effective and efficient manner. Moreover, technological advancements have made life easier and convenient. 

And to aware us about Science and Technology the Department of Computer Science had organized an activity “Technical Carnival By Tech-Savvy Students” on 30/11/2021, where all the students of various departments participated and shown their talent with their innovative ideas.  The Field Computer Science itself is a boon to us which has acknowledged us with innovations and has benefited us to an unimaginable extent.

It is a Technology-Expo where students have displayed various innovative science and technology projects developed by their own. Everyone visited the innovative models and appreciated the students for their efforts and innovative ideas.

This workshop was inaugurated by the Director of the college Rev.Fr.Shanti Prakash Panna. He was accompanied by the Principal Dr. Kuldeep Dubey and Vice Principal Dr. G. Padma Gouri. H.O.D’s of various departments with their teachers were present. The workshop was open for all the students.

 Different models from  various departments like, Amplifier: Speaker, Li-Fi technology, Face recognition attendance system, Tesla technology, Electromagnetic Induction and many more were presented .Students of all the departments visited the innovative ideas.

First, second and third position winners have been facilitated with mementos and certificates. Also, certificates were distributed to all the Participants.

“Quiz Competition”(2021-22)

It is saying that a healthy competition is always good for students. It helps students to develop their creativity and their skill sets. It also boosts their self-esteem, motivates them to become better and makes them mentally strong. 

The Department of Computer Science organized an event named ‘Quiz Competition’.  The objective of conducting ‘Quiz Competition’ is to encourage students to develop competitive environment among students beyond the syllabus knowledge. Quiz competitions enable students to think out of the box. It promotes a healthy debate amongst participants in order to learn from each other.

In this event the students of BCA and PGDCA were participated as Team BCA-I, BCA-II, BCA-III and PGDCA.

As the name implies, ‘Quiz Competition’ is an event involving questions related to computer and general logic ability. We added a little twist in the event in which students have to identify the morphed images of famous personalities and places.

Faculty in-charges of the event were Mr. Manoj Kumar Singh and Ms. Rupali Sharma. The event was organized in 4 rounds and each team has provided 2 chances to play. The students participated with full enthusiasm and were very active throughout the competition.

The event was ended by the announcement of the winners by judge, Mrs. Pooja Rathi, HOD Computer Science. Certificates were distributed to the winning team members.

The Department of Computer Science organized an event named “PPT Presentation Competition”. The basic purpose of organizing this competition is to inculcate and boost corporate communication, develop public speaking, encourage self-learning amongst the students. Developing presentation skills in the classroom is important for improving communication and creating positive learning experiences. This activity is helpful to gain real-world skills such as the ability to present accomplishments and skills during a job interview. It also develops self-confidence in students and helps to remove stage fear. The motive of this competition was to enhance the technical minds, thinking skills, creativity skills, and skills of presenting the topic. 

         The students beautifully presented the topic using PowerPoint Presentation. A total of 9 students from all the classes participated in the competition. Every presenter student was able to set an example to other students and will act as inspiration in future events. The time duration allotted to each presenter was 5 minutes with a minimum of 6 slides and a maximum of 10. Students worked very hard. 

 The Judge of the event was Mrs. Abhilasha Khare and Mr. Manoj Singh. The winners of the event were:

All 4 winners were awarded certificates. 

          The program ended up with the motivational message by HOD, Mrs. Pooja Rathi. Altogether the program was a huge success with the help and guidance of Mrs. Abhilasha Khare, Mr. Manoj Singh, and Mrs. Shikha Agrawal and complete coordination of the students.


Aptitude Test (2021-22)

Aptitude test basically determines the best career path for you depending on your skills and interests. This includes many areas of assessment such as Verbal Reasoning, Numerical Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning and other such abilities.

This Aptitude test was designed to understand and acknowledge the abilities of our students. In addition, it also helped to identify the abilities that are strongest as well as the weakest.

Department of Computer Science has organized an Aptitude Test for the students of BCA and PGDCA. The test was divided into four categories viz. Numerical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, Computer Awareness and General Awareness, where each section contained 10 questions each of 1 mark. Duration given to solve the test was 1 hour.

Numerical Ability:

Numerical ability test included basic numerical problems (missing no., series completion etc), percentages, profit and loss, time & work, speed & distance problems, fraction, ratio, average etc. These questions evaluate how well a person works with numbers. These are also frequently used by employers during employee selection for a board variety of jobs.

Logical Reasoning Ability

Logical reasoning is a rational and critical way of thinking and problem – solving. This test included Venn diagram, blood relation, mixtures & allegation, directions, analogical reasoning etc. These questions are designed to evaluate one’s ability to understand, analyze and complete a variety of arguments.

Computer Section:

Computers have become essential in everyday life, and the aptitude for a computer is an imperative section in a lot of competitive exams that are primarily related to employment. This test basically included the questions related to computer science.

General Awareness Section:

General awareness means knowledge about wide range of subjects rather than extensive knowledge in particular subject. This test included10 questions related to general knowledge.

The session was totally based on test pattern and all students responded very actively. Students were very happy for attending such a useful activity. Students also gave their suggestions for further improvement. Altogether 63 students participated in the exam. Ms. Deepa Goldar was the coordinator of the event.

Techno Update 2(2021-22)

A computer is a great invention of the modern technology. Modern computers are very different from early computers. They can do billions of calculations per second. Computers are used in almost all fields. Computer technology is very volatile in nature and it is getting updated very quickly so it’s really necessary to update ourselves as well. So initiative took by the Department of Computer Science and organized an event on 09/10/2021 named ‘Techno Update-II’ where students could able to share their knowledge about new technologies. The aim of this activity was to develop relationship with current technologies.           

Students were instructed to select the topic of their own choice. Topics and name of the students are listed below:-

  1. Saransha Bagh – Artificial Intelligence
  2. Udhani Parth Dilipbhai – Drone Technology
  3. Rohan Sayam – Human Augmentation
  4. Sagar Mishra – Self-Driving Vehicle

Faculty incharges of the event was Mr. Manoj Kumar Singh and Ms. Deepa Goldar. This event gave our students an opportunity for sharing and introducing the upcoming technologies and also providing them a platform for enhancing their Public Speaking and an overall Self-Development.

Students were advised to use PPT for their presentation. Each student provided 15 minutes for presentation. Students explained very well and shared very informative & sensible facts about the new technology on their respective topics. The doubts were cleared by the respective speakers during their presentation. The activity was overall a perceptive event which turned out to be very educational and helpful.

One Minute Games (2021-22)

A fun filled activity of ONE-MINUTE GAMES was conducted by the department of Computer science, on 1st of October 2021. It was a relishing activity with students bursting with energies along with all the boost from teachers. The purpose of this activity was to make the students comfortably adjusted and to have interaction amongst the seniors and juniors. Such events help us to interact with each other so we can build a productive connection. It also helps to reassure the newcomers.

The teachers took the initiative to organize the event, which was been successfully implemented and executed. Expectedly, the students participated filled with enthusiasm and zest. They were dynamic and vigorous throughout the activity. All the students of PGDCA, BCA-I, BCA-II and BCA-III by means of picking up the chits, were divided into four teams: Team A, B, C and D.

The series of activities started with the Ball Passing, preceding Burst and Protect, One Minute Brain Test and Musical Chair. The end of this series of games pronounced the highest scoring Team C the winner. These activities promoted the team spirit among the students. They enjoyed the activity and had lots of fun.

At the end, Mrs. Shikha Agrawal and Ms. Rupali Sharma congratulated the students, and appreciated the sport showcased by all the indulged teams had applied themselves to make this event an achieving success for all.

Techno Update 1(2021-22)

Mrs. Abhilasha Khare, and Mrs. Shikha Agrawal worked hard for the successful completion of this event.

Each student spoke individually on the topic and shared very informative and sensible facts about the updating technology on their respective topics. The activity was overall an insightful and perspicacious event which turned out to be very educational and helpful.

Technical Antakshari (2021-22)

The Department of Computer Science organized an event named “Technical Antakshari”. The purpose of organizing such an event was to have an informal interaction with new students of BCA and PGDCA and to make them feel comfortable with the teachers as well as senior students.          

The event was started with introductory message by HOD, Mrs. Pooja Rathi. In this event the students of BCA and PGDCA were participated.The names of the teamsparticipated areToofani, Ziddi, Vijeta and Singham.

As the name implies, ‘Antakshari’ is a game involving songs with little bit tricky to identify the song. We added a little twist in the game by using some technical words, emojis, dhun and posters.

Faculty incharges of the event was Mr. Manoj Kumar Singh and Ms.DeepaGoldar. The game was organized in 4 rounds and each team has provided 2 chances to play. Students got really excited by hearing the name of the game. The students participated with full enthusiasm and were very active throughout the game.

The event was ended by the announcement of the winners by judge, Mrs. Pooja Rathi, HOD Computer Science. Students of team Toofani were the winners.

Orientation Program(2021-22)

Department of Computer Science had organized an orientation program for BCA and PGDCA with the aim to familiarize the students to an unknown campus environment, its faculties and infrastructure. It will enable them to make essential connection with studies and develop network among other peers.

The event was graced by Hon’ble Director Fr. Shanti Prakash Panna, Principal Dr. Kuldeep Dubey, Assistant Director Fr. Roshan Kindo, Vice Principal Dr. G. Padma Gouri and Head of the Department Mrs. Pooja Rathi.

The program started with a warm welcoming to the students to a new environment by Ms. Rupali Sharma. At the very outset, to make the pupils more familiar with the campus, a PPT was shown. This was followed by a video of the Computer Department which enabled the new students to know more about the facilities and culture of the college.

Mrs. Pooja Rathi, HOD, Department of Computer Science delivered her welcome address which highly encouraged students to never give up on their dreams and to dream big.

Director, Fr. Shanti inspired the students to achieve more in life and to lead a great life.

This was carried on with Principal Dr. Kuldeep Dubey's speech which helped the pupils to know their worth and to study smartly and to make strong connection with their friends and teachers.

Assistant Director Fr. Kindo helped the students to utilize their precious time and to take every step wisely.

Last but not the least, our Vice principal Dr. G Padma Gouri motivated the students to be strong in every situation and to have faith in themselves.

This was followed by some motivational songs sung by our final year students.

The program was well executed with the help of faculties Mrs. Abhilasha Khare, Mr. Manoj Singh, Mrs. Shikha Agrawal, Ms. Rupali Sharma and Ms. Deepa Goldar.

HUB: Connecting People [Icebreaking Activity] 2021-22 D

Icebreaker is an event or activity that is used to introduce people to each other so that they feel more comfortable together.

Department of Computer Science had organized an icebreaking session for BCA 1st year and 2nd year students with the aim to make them comfortable and to have interaction amongst the seniors and juniors. The name of this event was ‘Hub: Connecting People’. Such events help us to interact with each other so we can build a strong connection and it also helps to understand the newcomers. BCA 3rd year students took the initiative to organise the event which was successfully implemented and executed, and it helped the final year students to develop managerial skills.

The event started with the self introduction by BCA 3rd year students followed by 2nd year and 1st year. After the introduction there was singing, dancing and standup comedy done by final year students. And in between the most fun part were the 2 games, which were 'Dumsharas' and 'Saree dress up'. The enthusiasm of the students provoked the faculties to participate in each and every activity. At the end, HOD -  Mrs. Pooja Rathi welcomed the students and briefed them about the college, Computer department and about the course they have opted. Faculties Mrs. Abhilasha Khare, Mr. Manoj Singh, Mrs. Shikha Agrawal, Ms. Rupali Sharma and Ms. Deepa Goldar worked hard to make the event successful.
