Aarohan- Marching towards Excellence (Annual Day 2023-24)

The Annual Day celebration of St. Vincent Pallotti College, Raipur, titled Aarohan – Marching Towards Excellence, was held with grandeur on February 7, 2024, in the college campus. The event brought together students, staff, and esteemed dignitaries, creating an atmosphere of inspiration and celebration. The Chief Guests for the evening were Shri Purandar Mishra, MLA (Raipur North), Padmashri Anuj Sharma, MLA (Dharsiwa, Raipur), and Very Rev. Fr. Bipin Kishore Minj, Provincial Rector, Raipur Province. Their presence added prestige to the occasion and encouraged the students to aspire for greater achievements.
The program commenced with a warm welcome by the anchors, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance and the ushering in of wisdom. The atmosphere was further elevated by a divine Ganesh Vandana, performed gracefully by the students, which set a serene and auspicious tone for the evening. Rev. Fr. Amit Tirkey, the Director of the college, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to fostering academic and personal growth among students. He highlighted the role of collective effort by staff and students in upholding the college's vision and values.
Dr. Kuldeep Dubey, the Principal, delivered a heartfelt speech reflecting on the journey of the college. He recounted significant milestones and achievements over the years and expressed his pride in the students' holistic growth and accomplishments. Padmashri Anuj Sharma inspired the audience with his words, urging the students to remain rooted in their cultural heritage while striving for excellence. Shri Purandar Mishra commended the college for its emphasis on leadership and community building, encouraging students to become active contributors to society.
The evening was further enlivened by a series of cultural performances that showcased the immense talent and diversity of the students.
Highlights included the vibrant Rajasthani Kalbeliya dance, captivating performances like Hamar Sughar Chhattisgarh and Viksit Bharat
celebrating regional traditions, and the enchanting Kantara dance that blended storytelling and music. A soulful medley by the college band added a contemporary flair, while the freestyle and South Indian dances brought energy and enthusiasm to the stage.
The event also recognized the hard work and dedication of students through a prize distribution ceremony, honoring their academic and extracurricular achievements. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. G. Padma Gouri, the Vice Principal, followed by the National Anthem. The celebration was a reflection of the college's ethos of blending academic rigor with cultural richness, leaving the audience inspired and proud of their association with St. Vincent Pallotti College.

Indian folk paintings contribute to the preservation of cultural identity and tradition. They serve as a visual representation of a community's history, values, and way of life. Indian folk painting is a traditional form of art that has its roots in the diverse cultures and regions of India. These paintings are often characterized by their vibrant colors, bold lines, and intricate detailing. Each region in India has its own unique style of folk painting, reflecting the cultural, social, and religious influences of that particular area.

The Cultural Committee has organized 'Paint the Indian Folk: Painting Competition on 9 December, 2023 (Saturday) for all the students of St. Vincent Pallotti College, Raipur, Students participated with full enthusiasm by showing their creativity in form of Indian Folk Painting.

In the event, Director Rev. Father Amit Tirkey, Principal Dr. Kuldeep Dubey and

Vice Principal- Dr. G. Padma Gouri had graced their presences. The judges of the event were Dr. Sunita Pawar and Mrs. Tripti Pashine Singh. The judgment was done on criteria of Theme, Creativity, Colour Combination, Neatness and Overall Appearances.

 Students selected the theme of their own choice. Indian folk painting forms and name of the students are listed below:-

The college's commitment to organize such events provides a platform for students to express their artistic talents and growth. The success of the competition showcased the students' enthusiasm and their ability to convey visual narrative of the cultural history of different regions through the medium of art. Convener of Cultural Committee Mrs. Yashswee Lonkar, incharge of the activity, Dr. Priti Saini Agarwal along with the committee members worked hard for the successful completion of this event. Last but not the least, the event ended with the distribution of certificate to winners as an encouragement.

The Cultural Committee has organized the Rangoli Competition for all the students of St. Vincent Pallotti College, Kapa, Raipur to cherish the festivity of Diwali. Students were very delighted and participated with full enthusiasm by showing their creativity in form of eco-friendly Rangoli with beautiful color- combinations and designs. The theme of the competition was 'Diwali-The festival of lights'.

In the celebration, Director Rev. Father Amit Tirkey, Principal Dr. Kuldeep Dubey and Vice Principal Dr. G. Padma Gouri had graced their presences. The judges of the event were Dr. Prachi Singh and Mrs. Ramola Vikas Dan. The judgment was done on criteria of Theme, Creativity, Colour Combination, Neatness, and Overall Appearances.

The event aimed to provide a platform for students to showcase their creativity and artistic skills. The competition was met with enthusing and participation from students across different departments of the college.

Last but not the least, the day ended with the distribution of certificates to winners as an encouragement.

Art and craft workshops have become an integral part of the curriculum. These workshops provide students with a creative outlet to explore their artistic talent and develop their craft skills. A five day Art Workshop from 10th 14th October 2023 for students of B.Com, BBA, B.Ed., BCA, PGDCA, and B.P.Ed was organized at St. Vincent Pallotti College, Raipur by Cultural Committee in AVA Room from 12:15 PM onwards. The expert for the session was Ms. Nibedita Panda, who took the session all the five days and guided students to create different artworks using different creative techniques. Ms. Panda is a specialist art mentor with Pidilite for more than a decade and has conducted more than 300 workshops in Raipur in past few years.

 

The main objective of the workshop was to improve motor skills of the students with guidance from certified Art Mentor. The sessions included hands on training on Clay Jewelry making, Tie n Dye Techniques and making Mural Art/Name Plate using Clay. The designs were conceptualized by the students individually for their respective artworks and they created their own projects. The workshop also helped students to understand different elements of design and their amalgamation to create varied formations. They also learned different techniques of mixing colors. Around 50 students participated in the workshop and enjoyed trying their hands on clay and colors.

Lastly, the workshop was concluded with the distribution of certificates to the students and vote of thanks to the expert of the session.

The 76th Independence Day was celebrated with great fervor and patriotism at St. Vincent Pallotti College, Raipur on August 15, 2023. The program aimed to commemorate the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and to inspire a sense of unity and pride among the attendees.

The event commenced with the solemn hoisting of the national flag by the chief guest Rev. Father Amit Tirkey, Director of the College accompanied by the Principal Dr. Kuldeep Dubey. The flag fluttered proudly against the backdrop of a clear blue sky, symbolizing the freedom we cherish today. The flag hoisting was followed by a rendition of the National Anthem, led by the college choir.

Rev. Father Amit Tirkey delivered an inspiring speech emphasizing the significance of Independence Day. The speech highlighted the importance of unity, diversity, and the responsibilities of citizens in upholding the values of our nation. He addressed the audience with passion and insight. He expressed his views on celebrating our nation's independence, the sacrifices of those who fought for our freedom, and our duty is not only to cherish the liberty we enjoy but also to work collectively for the progress of our country. He also emphasized the role of teachers and students in the growth of our nation.

Students from various classes presented a mesmerizing array of cultural performances, including patriotic songs, speeches, and dances. The versions depicted the journey of our nation's struggle for independence and the progress we've made since then. The spirit of patriotism and national pride will continue to resonate within the hearts of all who attended the event. The event came to an end with a vote of thanks.

The dream begins with a teacher who believes in his students, who tugs and pushes and leads them to the next plateau, sometimes poking them with a sharp stick called 'truth'.

Teachers' Day is a special occasion celebrated across educational institutions to honor and appreciate the dedication and hard work of educators. In our college, the Teachers' Day celebration on 05.09.2023 was a memorable event, filled with gratitude, appreciation, and unity among students and faculty members.

The preparation for the Teachers' Day celebration began well in advance, with the association of the cultural committee in coordination with students and faculty members working together to plan the event. The entire college campus was filled with enthusiasm and joy to create an inviting atmosphere.

The celebration commenced with a warm and welcoming gesture from the entire group of students. The event included a motivating speech by the college principal expressing gratitude that also reinforced the strong bond between teachers and students by creating a positive and nurturing educational environment. The program featured a variety of engaging games and Cultural Performances in the form of singing and dancing. These performances were dedicated to the teachers as a token of appreciation for their guidance and support.

Students shared their heartfelt testimonials about the teachers' impact lives, recounting memorable moments and expressing their gratitude.

The Teachers' Day celebration at St. Vincent Pallotti College was a resounding success, bringing together students and staff to acknowledge and honor the invaluable contributions of our teachers. The event served a crucial role in fostering a positive learning environment and promoted the importance of education.

St. Vincent Pallotti College organized a vibrant and thought-provoking poster-making competition on account of 76th Independence Day on the theme "Nation First, Always First". The event aimed to encourage students to express their thoughts creatively about the nation's progress, values, and the spirit of putting the nation first. The theme had been carefully chosen to ignite the participants' sense of patriotism and encourage them to reflect on the different aspects that make a nation stand high...

The participants' creative prowess was evident as they translated their thoughts onto the full-sized chart papers or canvas. The posters showcased a remarkable blend of colors. symbolism, and powerful messages. The diversity of ideas reflected the participants' deep understanding of the theme and their unique perspectives on what it means for them to always prioritize the nation's growth and well-being.

The judging panel comprised of esteemed faculty members who evaluated the posters based on relevance to the theme, artistic composition, creativity, and overall presentation. After a thorough assessment, the winners were announced in a ceremony at the end of the competition. The winners are:

Republic Day is a momentous occasion that holds immense importance for India, marking the day when the constitution came into effect. The day is celebrated with grandeur and pride, showcasing the unity, diversity, and patriotism of the nation.

This year 75th Republic Day has been celebrated in St. Vincent Pallotti College. The ceremony took place in the presence of Rev. Fr. Amit Tirkey SAC, Principal Major Dr. Kuldeep Dubey, and HODs of various Departments, Staff members, NCC Cadets, and Students.

The celebrations commenced with the National flag hoisting by Principal Major Dr. Kuldeep Dubey along with The Director followed by the National Anthem ‘जन गण मन’  symbolizing the sovereignty and unity of the nation.

A vibrant cultural program i.e. group dance and song was organized, featuring the rich and diverse heritage of India. Students from different departments enthusiastically and fervently participated in the celebration.
