St. Vincent Pallotti College, Raipur conducted an Art Workshop named “Play with Clay” from 5th December to 7th December for three days respectively. This initiative was taken by the Cultural Committee of the college for promoting art & craft among the youth.

 

The programme was designed with the objectives to teach various forms of art so as to develop aesthetic values in the students. Mrs. Nibedita Panda from Pedilite was invited as the resource person for this workshop. She taught a wide range of items like Clay art, Resin art, Fluid art and African masks to the participants. Many innovations were contributed by the students. 

Objectives of the Workshop:

  • Exercise and demonstrate use and mastery of the elements of design.
  • Use materials, tools and processes from a variety of media.
  • Handle materials effectively.
  • Create original objects of art in a specific medium.
  • Select appropriate media relative to concepts and forms of art.
  • Recognize elements of design in works of art.

 

Outcomes of the Workshop:

  • Students were able to work independently and collaboratively to achieve stated goals.
  • Participants were able o create an original piece of art.
  • Students gained sufficient mastery of one or more media to complete the technical and formal challenges pertinent to a body of original work.
  • Students were able to use the materials effectively.
  • Students could generate novel ideas to solve problems.

Art is essential as it covers all the developmental domains in child development. The workshop was a delightful learning experience for all the participants. It helped them gain an aesthetic sense thereby helping them to understand the beauty around them.

The Cultural Committee has organized Mehandi and Rangoli Competition for all the students of St. Vincent Pallotti College, Kapa, Raipur. Director Rev. Father Amit Tirkey SAC, Principal Dr. Kuldeep Dubey and Vice Principal Dr. G. Padma Gouri had graced their presence in the event. The judges of the events were Dr. Shraddha Verma and Mrs. Neetu Gupta.

Objectives of the Activity

  1. To provide with a platform for the students to remain in touch with Indian Culture.
  2. To motivate the students to come forward with innovative ideas for Eco-friendly rangoli.
  3. To confer the possibility to exhibit the colourful aspect of Indian Cultural heritage.
  4. To bring-up a festive mood among the students.
  5. To encourage students for their skills development.
  6. To boost their confidence in the art.

Students were delighted and participated with full enthusiasm by showing their creativity in the form of colors, designs with the aim of Eco–friendly Rangoli and Mehandi. The evaluation of Mehandi competition was done on the basis of theme, creativity, neatness, attractiveness and overall presentation.The evaluation of Rangoli competition was based on theme, creativity, colour combination, neatness and overall presentation.The event marked the celebration of togetherness, love and sharing. The college had the ambience of joy and happiness.

Total number of participants in Rangoli and Mehandi Competition were 40 and 35 respectively.

Event constantly fetched crowd the whole day. Last but not the least, the day ended with the distribution of certificates to winners as an encouragement.

Teachers play a very vital role in student’s life. So to honor and respect teachers for their contributions, the Management and students of St. Vincent Pallotti College took the initiative to celebrate Teachers’ Day on 5th September, 2022, in the college campus with the presence of  Director- Rev. Father Amit Tirkey, Principal - Dr. Kuldeep Dubey & Vice Principal - Dr. G. Padma Gouri, heads of various departments, teaching and non-teaching staff and a large group of students.

The welcoming was done by our students with ‘Aarti, Tilak and by presenting a flower as a token of love to all the teachers of the college. The celebration started with lighting a lamp, followed by showering of Rose Petals on the portrait of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan and cake cutting ceremony. A welcome dance was presented by students to mark the beginning of the ceremony.

 Principal  Dr. Kuldeep Dubey presented his message in an energyzing speech. The celebration continued by the various dance performances and band performance that were dedicated for the teachers. All the students made a huge effort to make the teachers day memorable. The teachers enjoyed the event and participated actively.  At the end vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Sonia Narwani, B. Com Final year Student. The program marked its conclusion with the National Anthem.

St.Vincent Pallotti College, Raipur celebrated the 75th Independence Day under the aegis of Amrit Mahotsav in the campus with great zeal and enthusiasm. The program was conducted successfully in the midst of pleasant atmosphere of rainy showers. The chief guest of the program was the Director of our college - Rev.Fr.Amit Tirkey accompanied by The Principal-Dr.Kuldeep Dubey and Vice-Principal-Dr.G.Padma Gouri. All the teaching, non-teaching staff and students gathered on this occasion of grand celebration.

The Chief Guest-Fr.Amit Tirkey hoisted the flag followed by the national anthem. The cultural program was conducted in the seminar hall. The program commenced by the highly patriotic emotions imbibed in the speech by the Principal Dr.Kuldeep Dubey who expressed the nationalistic spirit through the poetic lines of   the well known Indian Poet-Shri.R.S.Dinkar. He motivated the students through his deliverance expressing his views on the essence of celebrating national festival.

The colourful performances added the essence to the event through group dance and song in the glory of the nation by the students of various departments. The speech delivered by one of the post-graduate students of English could weave the national thoughts in tune with the appeal to fulfill the mission and vision of Independent India i.e. Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

The program was well presented by the duo-anchors organized by Mrs.Yashaswee Lonkar- the convener of the cultural committee. The event was highly successful and concluded with a joyous memory for the institution.

St. Vincent Pallotti College, Raipur always remains on toes to boost, support and motivate the students for all their achievements. Hence, in lieu of the same, the Scholarship Distribution Ceremony was organized on 2nd February 2023 at 10am in Seminar Hall. College provides Institutional Scholarship in four different categories that include the Academic Excellence and the remarkable achievements in National and International level of co-curricular activities. The College also felicitated four of its University Merit Position holding students in this ceremony. The eminent alumni of the College also contribute in the gesture by providing Alumni Scholarship to the talented students.

The Chief Guest on the occasion was Shri Sanjay Sharma, SPS, AIG Traffic, Chhattisgarh and the Special guest on the occasion was Rev. Fr. Bipin Kishor Minj, Provincial Rector, Raipur Province, Rev. Fr. Ajay Kumar Jojo, Provincial Consulter and the Member of the College Governing Body,   Rev. Fr. Amit Tirkey SAC - Director of the College, Dr. Kuldeep Dubey- Principal, Dr. G. Padma Gouri-Vice Principal and the entire staff as well as students were amongst the presentees.

The program commenced with the introduction of the event followed by the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries as a mark of seeking blessings from the Almighty before starting any event. A very warm gesture of welcome was extended to the invited guests through the presentation of bouquets.  

The program started in the midst of the peaceful atmosphere, with the highly   melodious Prayer song presented by the students. Dr. Kuldeep Dubey – the Principal of the college gave the welcome speech and spoke on the emergence and various achievements of the institution. The stage performances of dances depicting the Cultural Unity and Chhattisgarhi Cultures entertained the audience and witnessed the participants’ skills as well. After the marvelous dance performances, the scholarship to the meritorious and other different categories was awarded.

There were 84 recipients of the scholarship out of which 19 students got the scholarship under the first category of academics & Co-curricular activities.

College feels very proud to have four students from the Department of Computer Science (BCA) in the University Merit List. Ms. Rebecca Raechel Anil –Gold Medalist, Ms. Divya Jagan - 5th Position, Ms. Komal Taunk - 6th Position and Mr. Abhishek Lakra - 9th Position in the Merit list of  Pt. Ravishankar  Shukla University.  

Apart from these, 60 more students under the other three categories obtained the scholarship in addition to the five students that are provided by the Alumni every year.

After the distribution of the scholarships, the Chief Guest Shri Sanjay Sharma, SPS, AIG Traffic, Chhattisgarh, addressed and applauded the winners of the scholarship. He also expressed his views on increasing the awareness of traffic safety rules. The cultural program was also highly praised by him. Mr. Subodh Haritwaal, the Alumni also expressed his views on the remarkable role of the college. He further appreciated and encouraged the students to play the significant role in the upliftment of the college and work for noble cause. A few other alumni were also present on the occasion.

The Scholarship Distribution Ceremony concluded with the vote of thanks extended by the Vice Principal – Dr.G.Padma Gouri with her deep sense of gratitude towards all. Last but not the least; the Mementoes were presented to the Chief Guest and Special Guests as a mark of honour to them. At the end, National Anthem was sung to mark the closure of the program.

St. Vincent Pallotti College, Raipur celebrated the 74th Republic Day in the College Campus with great zeal and enthusiasm. The program was led by the Director of the college - Rev. Fr. Amit Tirkey SAC and the Principal - Dr. Kuldeep Dubey accompanied by Vice-Principal- Dr. G. Padma Gouri. All the teaching, non-teaching staff, NCC cadets and students gathered for this grand celebration.

The Director along with Principal hoisted the national flag that was followed by the National Anthem. In his speech Director invoked the patriotic emotions imbibed in the glorious expressions towards the rich cultural heritage and unity in diversity of the mother land.

The colourful performances in the cultural program i.e. group dance and song added the essence to the event in singing the glory of the nation. Students of various departments took part in the celebration with zeal and enthusiasm. The program concluded with expressing gratitude with all warmth and respect.
