Abhishek Chaudhary has actively worked in many plays in the field of theater for 5 consecutive years. He has directed plays like Gili Gili Fu (child play), Made in China, Bastar Maange Hinson Se Azaadi, Bhagavadajjukam, Ped Hai Sanse, Aadha Adhure. He has played different roles as an actor in plays like Gagan Damama Bajyo, Abhigyan Shakuntalam, Parijat Haran, Mrityunjay, Bina Darwaza Ka Kamra, Prajatantra Ka Khel. After in-depth study of theater Art from National Institute of Technology, Varanasi, he established Jugnu Theater and Film Society in Raipur in September 2020, and started training children and youth in the theatre Arts. It is a matter of great pride that Jugnu trained artists who are making their mark at the national level.

 

Objectives :

  1. To demonstrate a set of basic skills in theatre like appreciation, analysis, expression, communication and explication.
  2. To demonstrate control over voice and speech, body movements required for theatre.
  3. To appreciate and analyze various theatre genres and style.
  4. To employ reflective thinking skills to analyze and interpret scripts and performances.
  5. To conceptualize, visualize and present theatrical performances.
  6. To uphold theatrical as well as socio – political values in practice.

 

Execution :

A  Certificate course on Theatre art was conducted by the department of Education for the teacher trainees of B.Ed semester – III to have deep insights and understandings of theatre genres and styles. The certificate course aimed in providing platform to explore the unexplored hidden ability to express and shedding the inhibitions associated with performing in front of the audience. The course was conducted by Mr. Abhishek Chaudhary who is renowned personality in theatre art in the Chhattisgarh region. The course covered various aspects of acting like movement, voice modulation, improvisation, script writing and various exercises related to self and social awareness. Trainees were provided with the opportunities to improvise and create their own stories. Every trainee participated in the given task with great zeal and enthusiasm. The participants were continuously evaluated for each skills and activities. Summative evaluation was done on the basis of final Presentations (classroom productions and Performance). The theme for the final presentation was Idioms and Phrases. This course helped our teacher trainees to hone their communication skills, enabling them to express themselves effectively, connect with others and foster empathy.

At the end of the course, participants are able to:

  • Appreciate various theatre genres and style and effectively and apply in teaching learning process for school students.
  • Design activities for school children to enhance their creative ideas, expression and communication skills.

Name of the Course : Certificate Course on Fine Arts and Crafts.

Objectives : To

  • Understand the value of Art and develop aesthetic sense through the course.
  • Create their own works of art using varieties of methods and materials available at the local level.
  • Participate in art related exhibitions and shows.
  • Teach fine arts and crafts to school students.
  • Motivate them as an arts entrepreneur.

 

 

Execution :

Department of Education conducted a certificate course on Fine arts and crafts to promote artistic and  aesthetic sense, and to encourage their creativity through visual arts.            Dr. Neena Rathi a renowned Fine arts teacher was the resource person of the course. Dr. Rathi has conducted many workshops on fine arts in Government and Private colleges of Chhattisgarh region. The course provided an outlet for our trainees to express their emotions and be creative. Participants received hands on experience on various forms of art like POP/Clay Art, Flower Making, Eco friendly Paper Art and mother art related to local communities. The fine art course was an inspirational to our teacher trainees to spur their feelings and imaginations and also to improve their creative abilities.

 


Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the course, participants are able to:

  1. Appreciate different art forms with special reference to local/ community art and inculcate the values among school students.
  2. Design activities based on the different forms of art and in accordance to the interest of students.
  3. Nurture the creativity of school students by organizing art exhibitions in schools, motivating the school students to participate in activities at national and global level.

The Thanksgiving Ceremony titled “Gracias” organized on 23/04/24 by the students of B.Ed Sem IV was a heartfelt expression of gratitude towards the teachers who have been guiding and mentoring them throughout their academic journey. The event was meticulously planned and executed according to the program schedule to ensure a memorable experience for all attendees.

The ceremony commenced with a soulful prayer song, invoking blessings and setting the tone for the rest of the event. The melodious rendition brought a sense of serenity and reverence to the gathering followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp symbolizing the illumination of knowledge and wisdom. It marked the beginning of the formal proceedings, signifying enlightenment and guidance provided by the teachers.

Students took the stage to share their experiences and anecdotes, expressing gratitude towards specific teachers who had left a profound impact on their lives. Their heartfelt testimonials were met with applause and appreciation from the audience.

Certificates were awarded to students by the Director, Principal, Vice Principal and HOD of Education to the students who had successfully completed certificate courses during their academic tenure. This segment celebrated their achievements and acknowledged their dedication to continuous learning and skill development.

The Director of the institution Rev. Fr. Amit Tirkey delivered an inspiring speech, highlighting the significance of the occasion and acknowledging the invaluable contribution of the teaching faculty in shaping the future educators. Principal, Dr. Kuldeep Dubey addressed the gathering, expressing gratitude towards the teachers for their dedication and commitment and wished success to the students. The Head of the Department Dr. R. Gayatri Iyengar shared insightful remarks, recognizing the hard work and perseverance of both the students and the teachers. All the speeches underscored the collaborative effort required to achieve academic excellence and personal growth.

As a symbolic gesture of continuity and tradition, the outgoing students passed on their duties and responsibilities to their juniors. This ritual emphasized the sense of camaraderie and mentorship within the academic community, fostering a spirit of collaboration and support.

A vote of thanks was extended by Ms. Lucy Tirkey (B.Ed Sem IV) to all the teachers, staff, and students who had contributed to the success of the ceremony. Their collective effort and cooperation were instrumental in making the event a memorable and meaningful experience for everyone involved. The ceremony concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem.

On 23/04/24 an atmosphere filled with nostalgia and camaraderie enveloped the college as the students of B.Ed Sem II organized farewell function-“Bella Cias” to bid adieu to their beloved seniors. The event was a heartwarming gesture to express gratitude and best wishes to the departing seniors.

The informal farewell function commenced with a warm welcome extended to the seniors by the students of B.Ed Sem II. The venue was adorned with decorations reflecting the cherished memories and experiences shared by the students throughout their journey in the college.

The program featured a variety of activities and performances arranged by the first year students. This included heartfelt speeches, musical performances and a photo slideshow capturing moments shared by the seniors during their time at the college.

A highlight of the event was the emotional tributes delivered by juniors, reminiscing about the impact their seniors had on their college lives. These speeches were filled with gratitude, admiration, and well wishes for their future endeavors.

In addition to the planned performances, the event also provided opportunities for interactive sessions where juniors and seniors engaged in heartfelt conversations, shared anecdotes.

As a token of appreciation, students of B.Ed Sem II gave gifts  to each senior, symbolizing the lasting bond forged between them. These gifts served as a tangible reminder of the cherished memories and friendships cultivated during their time together.

The farewell function organized by the juniors was a heartfelt tribute to their seniors, reflecting the strong sense of camaraderie and mutual respect between them. As the seniors embark on new journeys, they leave behind a legacy of friendship, inspiration, and invaluable contributions to the college. The event served as a poignant reminder of the profound impact seniors have had on the college and the lasting bonds that transcend time and distance.

 

The Christmas celebration at Department of Education, St. Vincent Pallotti College, Raipur (C.G.) was a spiritually enriching and culturally vibrant event that aimed to commemorate the essence of Christmas through various activities such as Prayers, Candle Lighting, Bible Reading, Carol Singing and Christmas Drama. The celebration began with prayer, followed by singing melodious Christmas songs by the quire groupThe students showcased their musical and dance talents with a repertoire of Christmas carols and festive tunes.

The candle lighting ceremony added a symbolic and serene touch to the celebration. This began with a moment of reflection, followed by lighting the first candle- symbolizing the light of the Christ. This ceremonial act continued as the light spread throughout the room, signifying the spreading of joy, hope, and peace.

A highlight of the celebration was the captivating Christmas drama performed by talented students. The drama depicted the traditional story of the birth of Jesus Christ, showcasing the significance of the event and spreading the message of love, compassion, and hope. Director of the College, Rev. Father Amit Tirkey, enlightened the audience about the importance of Christmas and the ideals and sacrifices of Jesus'.

On this occasion, College Principal Dr. Kuldeep Dubey, Vice Principal Dr. G. Padma Gouri, Heads of various departments, teachers and students were actively present.

The Christmas celebration was a resounding success, bringing together the college community in a festive and joyous atmosphere. The event successfully combined cultural performances, community involvement, and traditional elements like decorations and feasting to create a memorable and meaningful celebration. Introduction:

On December 2, 2023, Department of Education of St. Vincent Pallotti College successfully organized an interdepartmental food fest titled "Cherish and Relish - Flavours of India." The event aimed to celebrate the rich culinary diversity of India and foster a sense of community within the college.

The food fest featured a vibrant display of Indian cuisine, with each department contributing to the gastronomic extravaganza. The event took place in the college premises, creating a lively atmosphere filled with aromas, colors, and cultural vibrancy.

Highlights of the Event:

Opening ceremony: The ceremony was inaugurated by The Director , Principal and  Vice Principal of the college. The dignitaries appreciated the efforts of the students for their zeal . The ceremony was declared OPEN by the Director of the college – Fr. Amit Tirkey.

Culinary Diversity: The food fest showcased impressive array stalls of dishes from different states of India, allowing attendees to savor the diverse flavors and spices that make Indian cuisine so unique.

Community Engagement: "Cherish and Relish" successfully brought together students, faculty, and staff, fostering a sense of community and Friendship. The event provided a platform for networking and socializing, strengthening the bonds within the college.

Conclusion:

"Cherish and Relish - Flavours of India" was a resounding success, thanks to the collaborative efforts of various departments. The event not only celebrated the culinary richness of India but also highlighted the talents and skills of the college's diverse academic disciplines. संस्कृति – The Semi Folk Dance Competition held on 01/12/2023 at seminar hall was a vibrant and culturally rich event, showcasing the diversity and traditional elements of folk dances. The competition was organized by Cultural Club, Department of Education, aiming to provide a platform for participants to celebrate and express their cultural heritage through dance.

Several teams from different clubs enthusiastically participated in the competition. Each team brought forth a unique blend of traditional folk elements and contemporary dance styles, adding a distinctive flavor to the overall event.The competition featured a wide variety of folk dances from various regions, including  Bhangra (Punjab), Garba (Gujarat), Ghoomar (Rajasthan) etc.

The judges of the competition were Miss Aanchal Mishra and Mrs. Neetu Gupta. The judgment criteria included theme, choreography, synchronization, costume, and overall presentation. The judges appreciated the teams' efforts in preserving and promoting their cultural traditions. Vice Principal Dr. Padma Gouri congratulated the Education Department and participants on the success of the competition.

The winners of the competition were announced by the Vice Principal Dr. Padma Gouri.

After a tough competition, the following teams were declared winners:

  2. Semester I - Second Place: Career wings Club
  3. Semester III - First Place: Innovative Club
  4. Semester III -Second Place: Literary Club

At the end of the competition, a glimpse of Incredible India was presented by the students of Cultural Club. The Semi Folk Dance Competition was not just a competition but a celebration of India's rich cultural tapestry. It succeeded in bringing together participants and spectators in a shared appreciation for the diversity and beauty of our folk traditions. The event concluded on a high note with a cultural exchange, fostering a sense of unity and pride in our collective heritage. Starnit Tirkey and Roshni Patel, B.Ed Sem III (members of Cultural Club) expressed gratitude to all participants, and attendees for making the event a grand success and for contributing to the promotion and preservation of India's folk dances. On this occasion, Head of Education Department, Dr. R. Gayatri Iyenger, Teachers and a large number of students were present in the event .

The Pocket Movie Making Competition for B.Ed. students was held on the 7th of October 2023 at the seminar hall. The competition aimed to provide a platform for aspiring educators to showcase their creativity and storytelling abilities through short films. A total of 12 movies participated in this event, making it a lively and engaging experience for both participants and the audience.

The competition commenced at 10.30am with great enthusiasm from the participants. Each team had the task of creating a compelling short film within a limited time frame of 10 minutes. The event was well-organized by the Literary Club of Department of Education. The audience was full of enthusiasm.

Twelve teams of B.Ed. students participated in the competition, each bringing their unique perspectives and storytelling styles. The teams had the freedom to choose their themes and genres, which resulted in a diverse range of films. This diversity added depth and excitement to the event.

Judges of the event,  Dr.R Gayatri Iyengar and Mrs. Yashswee Lonkar evaluated the films. They assessed the entries based on various criteria, including storytelling, direction, cinematography, sound design, and overall impact.

Winners: After a meticulous evaluation process, the following teams emerged as winners:

First Place: “ Ginti”  by Semester III, Group 3.

Second Place: “ Where is God?”,  by Semester III, Group 5.

Third Place:  1. “The Classroom” by Semester III, Group 8.

  1. The Dog’s Life” by Semester I Group 2.

 

The winning teams were awarded certificates, recognizing their outstanding contributions to the competition.

Participants had the opportunity to work under time constraints, collaborate with their team members, and apply their theoretical knowledge of filmmaking in a practical setting. The Pocket Movie Making Competition for B.Ed. held on the 7th of October 2023 was a resounding success. The H2F Club of Department of Education organized a recreational activity day featuring the traditional Indian games "Chain Tag and Lagori." The event aimed to promote physical activity, teamwork, and the preservation of traditional Indian games while allowing students of B.Ed Sem I to experience the joy and thrill of playing a game that has been an integral part of our culture for generations.

Objective:

The objective of organizing the games was to provide an opportunity for the B.Ed Semester I students to engage in physical activity that encourages teamwork, communication, and physical fitness. Additionally, the event aimed to create awareness about traditional Indian games and their significance in our culture.

These traditional Indian games are popular among children and are often played in schools and communities. The event was conducted in the free zone, which provided ample space for the participants to move around freely. The B.Ed Semester I students actively participated in the game and displayed great enthusiasm throughout the event.

Several aspects of the event were noteworthy:

Teamwork: The games emphasized the importance of teamwork, as participants needed to work together to defeat their fellow students effectively.

Physical Activity: The games encouraged physical activity and provided an opportunity for students to engage in an enjoyable form of exercise.

Cultural Relevance: Both the games highlighted the cultural significance of traditional Indian games and how they contribute to our heritage and childhood memories.

Sportsmanship: The event promoted healthy competition and sportsmanship among the participants.

Fun and Enjoyment: The laughter and cheers of the participants indicated that the event was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Conclusion:

The games organized for the B.Ed Semester I students was a great success in promoting physical activity, teamwork, and cultural awareness. The participants had an enjoyable and memorable experience while participating in these traditional Indian games. The event not only showcased the importance of physical activities but also brought students closer to our rich Indian heritage.

Induction plays a vital role in shaping student perceptions of what college offers and college commitment to deliver high quality provision. Induction program is organised to make students aware of the support and services available to them so that they smoothly enter a partnership with the college to shape their learning program and gain maximum from the college life.

The Purpose of Induction is primarily to:

  • To helps students to adjust and feel comfortable in the new environment.
  • To inculcate in them the ethos and culture of the institution, helped them build bond with other students and faculty members and expose them to a sense of larger purpose and self-exploration.
  • The student Induction Program intended to empower the aspirant learners to face the competitive world with confidence.
  • To make student acquaint about the available internal and external sources (curricular, co- curricular and extra -curricular) for all round and holistic development.

 

Orientation Program “DEEKSHARMBH” was organized by the Department of Education of St. Vincent Pallotti College, on 17/10/2023.

The orientation program was chaired by the Director of the college Rev. Fr. Amit Tirkey,                 Principal Dr. Kuldeep Dubey, Vice Principal Dr. G. Padma Gouri , HOD of various Department and all the staff members of Education Department.  

The session commenced with lamp lighting followed by prayer song and folk dance by the students. HOD Department of Education Dr. R.Gayatri Iyengar   Oriented about the objectives, curriculum structure for the teacher trainees of batch 2023 and the phase by phase milestones that the institution has achieved and that which will continue to reach. Director Rev. Fr. Amit Tirkey address to the students to pursue their dreams and use the enormous facilities available in the college. Principal Dr. Kuldeep Dubey also oriented the vision, mission, origin and growth of the institution.

A power point presentation was prepared to depict the activities conducted for the teacher trainees by the Department of Education. Vote of thanks was given by B.Ed semester III student. The program enabled to create a bond between student-teacher, faculty members and college community. After Orientation, various entertainment cultural activities were organized to add colours to the event.

In 2014, India's "Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan" embarked on a journey to transform the nation's cleanliness and sanitation standards. By 2023, this ambitious campaign had evolved from a government initiative into a people's movement. The Department of Education at St. Vincent Pallotti College, in collaboration with the Aakanksha Lions Institute of Learning and Empowerment, marked the 9th-year anniversary of this remarkable endeavor on September 27, 2023, with the theme of 'Garbage Free India'.

 

During this event, the B.Ed. 1st-year students of St. Vincent Pallotti College partnered with Aakanksha Lions Institute to organize a series of impactful activities. These events celebrated the achievements of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan and reinvigorated the commitment to its principles, emphasizing community engagement, education, and social responsibility.

 

From 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the activities unfolded with a "Workshop on Sanitation and Hygiene," focusing on menstrual hygiene and open discussions about cleanliness, breaking taboos. The "Plastic Free India Awareness Program" increased awareness about plastic pollution, inspiring sustainable practices while highlighting the challenges. At 12:00 PM, a "Nukkad Natak" on "Garbage Segregation and Waste Management" engaged a diverse audience and encouraged responsible waste disposal. The "Rally for Saving Girl Child" advocated gender equality and girls' rights, with impassioned slogans igniting community support.

 

These events weren't merely commemorative; they were a call to action, addressing sanitation, hygiene, environmental responsibility, and gender equality. This momentous occasion embodies the unwavering commitment of young minds to carry the message of Swachh Bharat forward. It's a testament to the convergence of youth-led activism and the spirit of Swachh Bharat, inspiring change, awareness, and action within the community.

The Active Learning Methodology Workshop was conducted from 13/07/23 to 25/07/23. The primary objective of the workshop was to introduce and explore innovative teaching strategies that promote active learning and engage students in a meaningful way. The workshop emphasized the integration of various active learning techniques, including KIM [Key, Information Memory] , Educational Games, Mind Maps, and Chronologue, W-H Template, Sloke-Sutra and formula, Cloze test etc. into the classroom setting.

Participants

The workshop saw the participation of all the educators of Education department. All the Teacher-trainees of the department who were the attendees added value to the discussions, as they brought different perspectives and experiences.

Workshop Agenda

Introduction to Active Learning: An overview of active learning and its benefits in enhancing student engagement and comprehension.

KIM: Participants were introduced to the KIM, which is designed to improve memory and observation skills. Practical exercises were conducted to illustrate how this technique can be used in the classroom to reinforce learning.

Educational Games: This segment focused on the integration of educational games to foster active learning. The participants were introduced to various game-based teaching strategies and given hands-on experience with some popular educational games relevant to their subjects.

Mind Maps: The workshop explored the concept of mind mapping as an effective tool for organizing information and promoting critical thinking. Participants created mind maps individually and in groups to map out complex topics from their respective fields.

Chronologue: The Chronologue technique was introduced as a means to enhance chronological understanding and historical context. Teacher-trainees were shown examples of how Chronologue could be incorporated into history, literature, and science lessons.

Integrating Active Learning: In this section, the focus was on how to integrate the  active learning methodologies and techniques into various teaching contexts and subjects. Participants brainstormed ideas and shared best practices.

Creating Lesson Plans: Participants were given time to work in groups to design lesson plans incorporating the active learning techniques learned during the workshop. Facilitators provided feedback and suggestions to improve the plans.

Q&A and Discussion: The workshop concluded with an open discussion, allowing participants to ask questions, seek clarification, and share their insights and takeaways from the workshop.

Exhibition: At last, an exhibition of all the Teaching- learning material and the educational toys prepared during the workshop was organized which was appreciated much by the college authorities and the visitors.

Outcomes

Increased Awareness: Participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the active learning methodologies discussed in the workshop and their potential impact on student engagement and learning outcomes.
