College Excursion: Exploring the Nature of Madhya Pradesh—"Pachmarhi".

Educational tours are an important part of student’s growth.They are chance for students to learn by crossing the boundaries of books.Students get to have the practical experience of theories that they have readin books. Educational tours are great way to make education interesting andengage students in learning.. To enhance this practical learning in students,the Excursion committee of St. Vincent Pallotti College, Raipur, organized atour which commenced on 12th November 2024 and lasted till 15thNovember 2024. Tour gave students a nostalgic, refreshing, adventurous andtremendous learning experience through visits to some of the prominent placesof Pachmarhi, a picturesque hill station in Madhya Pradesh along with a TeacherMr. Sourabh Puranik (Member, Excursion Committee) and a tour guide were a partof this fun filled Educational tour.

The tour reached Pachmarhi on 13th November. Afterfreshing up, and lavish lunch in hotel, tour team left for Jatashanker Caves,the students were struck by the natural splendor and spiritual significance ofthis ancient site. Students also visited Handi Kund, a stunning ravine with adepth of approx. 100 feet. This natural wonder was surrounded by lush greeneryand offers breathe taking view. Through interaction with local guides studentscame to know about various challenges faced by tourism in Pachmarhi. After lateevening, tour returned to hotel. A bonfire was organized, where studentsenjoyed the fun group activities and games which strengthened their bond.

The next day after a refreshing breakfast tour left fortheir next destination, the majestic Bee fall,  35-foot-high cascade of crystal clear waterplummeted into serene pool, creating a misty veil. The students learned aboutthe importance of conservation, sustainability and protecting natural Habitat.Tour than proceeded to Pandav Caves , the five caves each with a unique rockformations and ancient temples. Students learned geological formations anderosion process. On interacting with local guide students uncovered hiddenstories and legends. After sightseeing, students were left for shopping inlocal market where on interacting with local vendors they learned about themarket analysis of tourist place.

 The tour ended withSatdhara river fall, also called as Satpura River, flows through thepicturesque tour of Pachmarhi. Students witnessed the river’s golden huesduring sunset at sunset point. On engaging with locals students learned abouttheir dependence on the river.

The tour was a delightful experience for all. It was an opportunityto get good natural, industrial exposure and learn the business management intourist area. Tour was also a platform for students to understand the culture,appreciate the beauty of nature and develop a strong bonding with each other.
