The initiative aimed to provide all B.Com students with a practical understanding of Goods and Service tax nuances. The session commenced with an overview of the GST framework, emphasizing the critical role of accurate and timely return filing for businesses to ensure compliance and avoid penalties. Mr. Goenka expertly guided students through the various types of GSTreturns, the step-by-step online filing process, and the essential componentsinvolved, such as ‘Input Tax Credit and Tax Liability’calculation.
A significant focus of the activity was to understand the necessity of GST filing skills for final year commerce graduates entering the professional arena. In the current Indian tax landscape, businesses highly value candidates proficient in GST compliance, making this skill a crucial asset for enhanced employability and career advancement.
