Community Activity

The Community activity conducted at the AakanshaInstitute of Learning and Empowerment makes a significant step towardspromoting inclusion and providing support for individuals with diverseabilities. Renowned for its work, the institute focuses on addressing the needsof individuals with Intellectual Disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, DeafBlindness, Visual Impairments and other disabilities. Its comprehensiveapproach emphasizes educators, empowerment and skill development, making it abeacon of hope for many families and communities. The students of B.Ed SemesterI visited the institute on 14th. October 2025. 

As per the requirements of the communityactivity, it was necessary for the students of Education to understand therunning of an educational institute and in this case, the institution providesvery tangible and substantial idea of dealing and educating children, who areintellectually a bit weak. The modules they used, the teaching patterns theyexecuted and the special care to each individual were some of the key aspectswhich contribute to the purpose of visiting such facility. The students weredivided into small units of 10. These groups were assigned a task each, which didas a whole batch, but led, by the respective unit. There were variousactivities performed, in the School like Action song, Painting, Art and Craft,Dance, Games etc. The event successfully embodied the spirit of communityservice, fostering creativity and learning among students.                                                                     

 


TheDepartment of Education, organized an Exhibition-cum-Sale titled “NaiTalim: Handicrafts for Sustainable Entrepreneurship”. It aimed toencourage B.Ed. students to understand the concept of sustainableentrepreneurship, integrate creative handicraft skills with educationalpractices, and foster an appreciation for handmade products that supportlocal art and self-employment. The program was inaugurated with aribbon-cutting ceremony by Principal Dr. Kuldeep Dubey, VicePrincipal Dr. G. Padma Gouri, and Head of the Department ofEducation Dr. R. Gayatri Iyengar.

The event began with thewelcoming of dignitaries, followed by an inspiring address by the Principal,who emphasized the relevance of Gandhian philosophy and Nai Talimin promoting self-reliance through skill-based learning. A vote of thanksmarked the conclusion of the formal inauguration, after which the exhibitionand sale were opened to all. Valuable Feedback was taken through QR code. Thedignitaries and students expressed that the event promoted hands-onexperience in planning, designing, marketing, and selling handmadeproducts, thereby enhancing their entrepreneurial mindset andunderstanding of value-based education. The event successfully embodiedthe spirit of Nai Talim,fostering creativity, self-reliance, and entrepreneurial learning amongstudents.

Report on One-Week Induction Program

The Department of Educationconducted a one-week Induction Programfor the students of B.Ed. Semester I from 22/09/2025 to 27/09/2025. The program was designed to helpstudents become familiar with the college environment, teaching-learningresources, and overall academic and co-curricular facilities. It aimed to givestudents a strong and smooth start to their teacher education journey.

The objective of the program was to introducestudents to academic subjects, college clubs, and community resources, whilealso fostering teamwork and communication skills. On Day 1, students exploredand mapped the available resources. Day 2 focused on Introduction to morning prayerand group formation. Day 3 included induction of various subjects, Day 4presented various clubs and their activities, Day 5 involved ice-breakingexercises to strengthen peer interaction, and Day 6 concluded with astorytelling workshop that highlighted creative and participatory learning.

In conclusion,the Induction Program successfully helped students understand the collegeenvironment, engage with peers and faculty, and take part in interactive andpractical activities. It not just enhanced their confidence but also motivatedthem to actively participate in academic and co-curricular opportunities in thecoming semesters.

Educational Games and Toys Exhibition

The Department ofEducation organized an Educational Games and Toys Exhibitionon 26th July 2025, exhibiting innovative and interactive teaching-learningaids developed by the B.Ed. students of semester III. The event aimed tohighlight the importance of experiential learning and to encourage creativeapproaches in education.

The exhibition wasvisited by the Director, Principal, Vice Principal, teachers and students ofother departments with great interest. The Principal appreciated the initiativeand emphasized the role of educational tools in making learning more engagingfor students across all age groups.

A large variety of models of educational games andtoys were displayed, covering a wide range of subjects such as Mathematics,Science, Languages, Social Studies, and Environmental Education. Each displaywas designed with a focus on child-centered pedagogy, hands-on learning, and inclusiveeducation. Highlights included:

·        MathBoard Games to teach basicarithmetic in a fun and interactive way.

·        Puzzle-basedLearning Tools for improvinglogical thinking.

·        LanguageLearning Cards and Role-play Kitsto enhance vocabulary and communication.

·        ScienceExperiment Kits demonstratingbasic principles of physics and chemistry.

The B.Ed. studentsdemonstrated their models and explained how these tools can be integrated intoclassroom teaching to improve student engagement and understanding.

The eventconcluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs Ramola Dan, who appreciated the effortsof the students and acknowledged the faculty involved in organizing theexhibition.

TheDepartment of Education conducted a one-week Certificate Course on Theatre Arts for the students of B.Ed. Semester III from 14th July to 25th July,2025. The course was facilitated by Mr. Kapil Dhangar, a professional trainer from Jugnoo Acting Academy, Raipur (C.G).

Objectivesof the Course:

  • To introduce the basics of theatre as a creative art form.
  • To enhance students’ communication skills, self-expression, and confidence.
  • To develop voice modulation, body language, and non-verbal expression.
  • To foster team spirit, emotional sensitivity, and imaginative thinking in future educators.

Students were engaged in a blend of theoreticalinputs and practical training sessions. Daily sessions involved warm-ups, body movement training,voice exercises, improvisation, character development, and scripting. Students wereactively engaged in performances that explored various educational and socialthemes.

Studentsperformed short skits and dramatic scenes, applying the techniques learnedthroughout the week. These performances were highly appreciated by the facultyand their peers, highlighting their growth in stage presence and expressiveconfidence.

Thecertificate course proved to be a highly enriching experience for the B.Ed.students, equipping them with creative tools for classroom engagement. It alsoenabled them to see theatre not just as performance but as a powerful educational strategy.

 


Haritotsav – Green Starts with You

The Department of Education at St. Vincent Pallotti College organized Haritotsav on 19/07/25 to celebrate the significance of a green and sustainable environment. The event aimed to sensitize students and staff about environmental conservation and encourage them to adopt eco-friendly habits. The event was attended by Director Rev. Fr. Amit Trikey, Principal Dr. Kuldeep Dubey, Vice Principal Dr. G. Padma Gouri, Heads of Departments, faculty, and students.

Objectives:

  • To create awareness about environmental protection.
  • To encourage eco-friendly practices among students and staff.
  • To inspire responsibility towards nature.

The program included a Nukkad Natak performed by B.Ed. students highlighting the importance of protecting the environment. This was followed by a motivating speech by the Principal, Dr. Kuldeep Dubey. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, appreciating the efforts of all participants.

Conclusion:
The celebration successfully spread the message that “Green Starts with You”, inspiring everyone to take small steps for a cleaner and greener planet.

 


Active Learning Methodology (ALM)

The Department of Education successfully conducted a six-day workshop on Active Learning Methodology (ALM) for B.Ed. students from 7th July 2025 to12th July 2025. The primary objective of the workshop was to familiarize future educators with innovative, student-centered teaching strategies that promote engagement, participation, and higher-order thinking in class rooms.

Over the course of six days, interactive sessions were conducted by experienced teacher educators on various teaching techniques for active engagement learners.

The major highlights of the workshop included:

·        Introduction to the concept and principles of Active Learning Methodology

·        Hands-on training in various ALM strategies such as Think-Pair-Share, Role Play, Group Discussions, Mind Mapping, Document based Questions, Cloze test, Wh-Template and Chronologue.

·        Preparation and demonstration of the use of the technique .

·        Preparation and use of educational toys and games.

·        Peer feedback and reflective teaching practices.

Students actively participated in group tasks, lesson simulations, and discussions, making the workshop highly dynamic and learner-driven. An exhibition of the prepared materials was organized after the workshop in the college.

The workshop concluded with positive feedback from participants, who appreciated the practical exposure and its relevance to modern-day teaching-learning processes. The event reinforced the Department’s commitment to equipping student-teachers with contemporary pedagogical tools for future classrooms.
