Health Check-Up Camp

The Women and Gender Equity Cell of St. Vincent Pallotti College, Raipur, in collaboration with NGO Better Bharat and Maa Foundation, organized a Free Medical Health Check-up Camp on 23 September 2025 at the Seminar Hall. The program was coordinated by Ms. Riya Tiwari along with Mr. Jasmeet Singh, Director of Better Bharat, and Mr. Dibyendu Chakravarty, Director of Maa Foundation. A 23-member medical team from Suyash Hospital, ASG Eye Hospital, and Naman Dental Hospital, including physicians, eye specialists, dentists, gynecologists, and psychiatrist Dr. Alok Sharma, provided free consultations and check-ups. The camp was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Kuldeep Dubey and Vice Principal Dr. G. Padma Gouri, followed by an awareness talk on lifestyle diseases.

Health services such as eye check-up, dental screening, blood sugar and blood pressure monitoring, ECG, hemoglobin and blood group testing, gynecological consultation, and mental health counseling were offered. Nearly 150 students, faculty, and staff availed themselves of the facilities. The program, held under the mentorship of Convener Dr. Sunita Pawar and supported by Dr. Mini Pillai, Dr. Bani Saha, and Ms. Divya Verma, concluded successfully with a vote of thanks, highlighting the importance of preventive care and overall well-being.

Orientation Programme

The Gender Equity Cell of St.Vincent Pallotti College, Raipur, organized its Orientation Programme on 13thSeptember 2025 under the guidance of Dr. Sunita Pawar, Convener of the Cell.The programme aimed to familiarize new students with the objectives, roles, andactivities of the Cell and to spread awareness on issues of gender equity andempowerment.

In her address Dr. Mini. S. Pillai,one of the members of women cell explained the purpose of the gender Equitycell and highlighted its core objectives.

·        To enhance self-esteem and confidenceamong male, female, and transgender students.

·        To provide a platform for resolving complaintsrelated to mental and physical harassment.

·        To create awareness about gender bias,social issues, health, employment, and legal rights.

·        Toprovide information about Sanitary Vending machine installed in the girls’common room.

The session also shed light onvarious activities planned by the Cell, including workshops, awarenesscampaigns, and interactive discussions on topics like self-defense, safety,equality, and constitutional rights.

The programme encouraged studentsto share their views openly on gender-related matters. They participatedactively in discussions about social challenges, physical and mentalwell-being, and ways to create a safer and more inclusive environment.

The Orientation Programme proved tobe a meaningful platform for sensitizing students to gender equity. It not onlyintroduced them to the functioning of the Cell but also motivated them toactively engage in its initiatives throughout the year.

The event was a great success. TheCell reaffirmed its commitment to building an environment of respect, dignity,and equality for all.
